No. The background is removed entirely in your browser using an AI model that runs on your own device. Your image is never sent to us or any server, so it stays completely private.
How does it work without uploading?
The first time you use it, an AI model downloads to your browser once and is then cached. On modern browsers it uses your graphics card, so the cut-out is fast and high quality. After that, every image is processed on your own device, with nothing leaving your computer.
What image types work best?
People, products, animals and clear single objects on a distinct background give the cleanest cut. JPG, PNG and WebP are all supported.
What do I get back?

Why did the edges come out rough?
Very busy or low-contrast backgrounds, or fine details like flyaway hair, are the hardest cases. Using an image where the subject stands out clearly from the background gives the best result.
