Self-Destructing Notes

Write a private note, share a link, and it deletes itself the moment it is read. Encrypted in your browser, so not even we can read it.

Your private note
End-to-end encrypted. The secret key stays in your link and never reaches our server.
Your one-time link is ready

This link works once. As soon as the person opens and reads it, the note is destroyed for good. If nobody opens it, it disappears in 7 days. Share it only with the person who should read it.

How it works

1

Write it

Type your note. It is encrypted right in your browser before it ever leaves your device.

2

Share the link

You get a secret one-time link. Send it however you like.

3

It self-destructs

The first time it is opened, the note is shown once and then permanently deleted.

Questions

Is my note really private?

Yes. Your note is encrypted in your browser using AES-256 before it is sent. The decryption key lives only in the link you share (after the # symbol), and that part is never sent to our server. So we store an encrypted blob we cannot read. This is a zero-knowledge, self-destructing note.

Can the note be read more than once?

No. The moment it is opened and read, it is permanently deleted from our server. Reloading the link afterwards shows nothing, because the note no longer exists.

What if nobody opens it?

An unread note automatically expires and is deleted after the time you choose. Open Show options to set it to 1 hour, 1 day, or up to 7 days.

What can I use it for?

Sending a password, a WiFi code, a PIN, a private message, or any secret you do not want sitting in chat history or email forever. It is a simple, free Privnote alternative.

Is this the same as a one-time secret or a burn note?

Yes. A self-destructing note goes by many names: a secret note, a one-time note, a one time secret, a burn note (burn after reading), a disappearing message, or simply a self destructing note. They all mean the same thing: a private message that is destroyed the moment it is read.

Can I send a password securely?

Yes, that is one of the most popular uses. Paste a password, API key, or PIN, optionally protect it with a second password, and send the one-time link. It works as a secure note that deletes itself after your teammate reads it, so the secret never lingers in chat or email.

Can I set a password or an expiry time?

Yes. Open Show options to add a password (the reader must know it to open the note) and to choose when the note self-destructs if it is never opened: after 1 hour, 1 day, or 1 week.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

Completely free, no sign-up, no limits. Just write and share.
